Obituary

Lorene Chesnut Parker age 92, of Barbourville, formerly of Crane Nest, was born on August 22, 1923 in Barbourville. She was a daughter of the late Arthur Chesnut and Stella Sasser Chesnut. Lorene died
Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Baptist Health, Corbin. She was
a member of the First Baptist Church of Barbourville.

On August 27, 1941, she united in marriage to B.A. Parker and together they had six children. Preceding Lorene in death,
her beloved husband, B.A., a son, Dale, step-mother, Belle Chesnut,
sisters, Irene Cobb and Mary Pope, brothers, Oval, Orville, Ora and Odus Chesnut. Lorene touched so many lives and the friendships she shared are countless, including the time she spent at Lorene's Hallmark continuing to share her wisdom and more often than not, a hug.
As a grandson said today, the world is less bright without her beautiful smile.

Lorene leaves to mourn her passing; six children; Maxine Helton and husband, Donnie; Jean Williams and husband, Dan; Wanda Carnes and husband, Roy; Lowell Parker, Kathy Evans and husband, Steve; Sharon Warriner and husband, Doug. In addition to a community of people who called her Mammaw are her dear grandchildren; Kimberly (Greg) Humphries, Donna (Rob) Bartoli, Sherry (Sean) Hall, Melinda Huffman, Greg (Linda) Carnes, Kevin (Kelly) Evans, Mark Evans, Heather Bookmiller, Serina Parker, Zach Warriner, Clay Warriner, as well as great grandchildren, Amanda, Cody, Tyler, Jarrett, Taylor, Dylan, Seth, Morgan, Dylan, Boston, Jordin, Kayla, Nathan, Addison and Brayden. She is also survived by sisters, Shirley Wyatt, Ruth Taylor and brothers, Charles Chesnut and Rev. Dennis Chesnut.

Funeral Services for Lorene Chesnut Parker will be conducted at the New Bethel Baptist Church at Crane Nest, Kentucky, Monday, September
21, 2015 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dennis Chesnut and Rev. Shane Nickell officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery at Crane Nest, Kentucky with Grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home
Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and after 1:00 pm Monday at the Church until the funeral hour at 3:00 pm. Contributions may be made to the
New Bethel Cemetery Fund, 89 Daniel Boone Drive Barbourville, Kentucky 40906 in loving memory of Lorene Chesnut Parker.
