Maggie Ellen "Margaret" Slagle Hopkins, age 98, of Barbourville, died Monday, May 16, 2016 in the Barbourville ARH.
She was a daughter of the late Charlie Pittman Slagle and Minnie Warren Slagle, born to them on May 30, 1917 at Verdie in Harlan County, Kentucky.
Mrs. Hopkins was a well known Knox County Homemaker, and a Member of the Faith Tabernacle in Barbourville.
On June 6, 1941, she united in marriage to Charles Hopkins, and he preceded her in death on February 7, 1992.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Emmitt Slagle, Ruby Hampton, Garnett Slagle, Morris Slagle, Lois Buis, Beverly Kitchen and Bernard Slagle.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her loving family: her brother: Bill Slagle and wife, Sue of Fayetteville, Georgia.
Her numerous nieces and nephews.
Her special friends: Chelsea Walsh, Pat Gray and Jerree Kohler; and many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Maggie Ellen "Margaret" Slagle Hopkins will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Engle and Rev. Donnie "Duke" Hammons officiating.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Family and Friends.
The Hopkins family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home on Thursday after 5:00 P.M. and until the funeral hour of 7:00 P.M.
Burial will be on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pineville City Cemetery in Pineville, Kentucky.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
