Obituary

Mrs. Martha Ann (Jordan) McDonald, age 59, of Artemus, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the home of her son Rev. James McDonald of Artemus.  She was a daughter of the late Dewey and Essie (Gambrel) Jordan, born to them on June 10, 1959 at Artemus.

Martha Ann was a well known Certified Nurses Assistant at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Barbourville for many years, and had a very special love for her Lord.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving first husband James McDonald, and then by her loving second husband of over 23 years Leatus (Geebug) Gambrel, and by her four brothers A.J. Jordan, Albert Jordan, Bill Jordan and Leamon Jordan, and by a brother-in-law Bill Gibson.

Martha Ann is survived by her loving family: Her son, Rev. James McDonald and wife, Virginia of Artemus.  Her three daughters, Megan Gambrel and husband, Justin Smith of Stinking Creek, Kendra Gambrel and husband, Jay Gray of Flat Lick, and Lesa Partin and husband, Shane Partin of Artemus.  Her two step-sons, James Gambrel and wife, Jamie of Girdler, and Michael Gambrel and wife, Kim of Flat Lick.  Her loving grandchildren: Addie, Cailin, Joshua, Gabriel, Aaron, Peyton and Dawson.  Her brothers and sisters: Brice Jordan and wife, Pat of Guntersville, AL., Everett Jordan and wife, Karen of Somerset, KY., Alvin (Buck) Jordan and wife Regina of Union Grove, AL., Flora Gibson of Rossman, NC., Evelyn Jordan of Girdler,  Maggie Bays and husband, Jackie of Cannon, and Nancy Goins and companion Joe Worley of Flat Lick.  Her sister-in-law Liz Jordan of Guntersville, AL., and several beloved nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Ann McDonald will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 24, 2019 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with her son Rev. James McDonald and Rev. Bo Henson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Patterson Cemetery at Heidrick.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Jay Gray, Shane Partin, Justin Smith, Steve Gambrel, James Gambrel and Adam Vaughn.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: The CCU Unit Staff at Baptist Health in Corbin, Dr. Lindsay Musto, The Access Family Health, and  many dear Family Members, and dear Friends.

The McDonald family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, and on Sunday after 9:00 A.M.  and until the hour of service.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
