Mary Foley Carroll, age 97, of Barbourville, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
She was a daughter of the late Richard C. Foley, Sr. and Hulda Brown Foley, born to them on April 17, 1916.

Mary was a well known Knox County Homemaker; and worked for her brother, Junior, at Foley's Restaurant.

In 1940, she united in marriage to Homer L. Carroll and to this union two children: Charlotte Ann and Richard Lee Carroll were born.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; a sister, Jessie Detherage and her husband, J.E. (Bus) Detherage; and by her two brothers: Richard C. Foley, Jr. and his wife, Edna Foley; and James Tye Foley.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by her loving family: her daughter: Charlotte Baty and husband, Joe of Barbourville; her son: Richard L. Carroll and wife, Connie of Bimble; her grandson: Richard L. Carroll, Jr. and wife, Adrienne, along with two great grandchildren: Chloe Anne and Connor Jackson Carroll all of Lexington, Kentucky; her sister-in-law: Elsie Foley of Somerset; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Mary Foley Carroll will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 25, 2013 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Chesnut officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: her grandson, and her nephews.

The family would like to thank: Knox County Home Health, Hospice of the Bluegrass, Dr. James West, Dr.Jamie Carter and Staff, and Dr. Cindy Corbin, for the wonderful services they provided to their loved one.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
