Obituary

Barbourville, Ky. - In loving memory of Mary Louise Golden, 69. Mary Louise Golden was the daughter of Charles Hammons and Shirley McCown, born to them at Oak Ridge Hospital in Tennessee on August 7, 1953. Mary passed away unexpectedly in her home in Barbourville, January 3, 2023. She was a loving wife to her ex-husband Marshall Croley for over 20 years and a widow to Harold Golden. She was a nurturing mother to Melissa Massie (Ken), Marshall Elmer Croley (Diana), and Martha Fay Hall (Eric).

In addition to her parents and her husband, Harold Golden, preceding Mary Louise in death was her daughter Martha and son Marshall. Left behind to mourn her passing are her daughter Melissa Massie; her sons-in-law: Ken Massie and Eric Hall; her daughter-in-law Diana Croley; her sister, Doris Smith and Doris's husband, Terry; and her grandchildren: Tara Massie, Ashley Massie, Amanda Garabrandt, Samuel Massie, Haley Croley, Michael Hall Jr., Matthew Hall, and Mikayla Hall. She also leaves behind three nieces to mourn her loss: Heather Wagner, Ashley Martin and Emily Smith.

Mary loved shopping, going out to eat and celebrating the holidays. She had an overwhelming desire to help those in need and to care for others above herself. She was kind, humble, soft-hearted and meek. We are forever grateful to her loving son-in-law, Eric Hall who was her primary caretaker for the last few years - and for whom she had a special place in her heart. Mary Louise Golden is now in the arms of our loving Heavenly Father and with those loved ones who have gone on before her.
