Obituary

Mary A. Hamilton age 70, formerly of Knox County, was born on December 29, 1942 in Pikeville, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the
late Anson Selby and Ruby Tackett Selby. Mary died at her home in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Thursday, April 25, 2013. She was a former manager of the Welch's Oil Company in Hammond, Indiana. On January 1, 1968, she united in marriage to R.L. Hamilton and to this union three dear children were born. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, R.L., a granddaughter, Ashley Hamilton; a sister, Debby Tackett and brother-in-law, Mark Evans.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Tina Wallace and husband, Gene of Hammond, Indiana; sons; Charles Hamilton and wife, Tammi of Scottsboro,Alabama; Michael Hamilton of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; her eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; sisters; Rose Evans of DeMotte, Indiana; Myrtle McCarthy and husband, Jim of Ilinois; Sue Hyatt and husband, Bob of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; Anita Carol Teater and husband, Terri of Florida; her brothers; Curtis Selby and wife, Kathy; Daryl Wayne Tackett and wife, Sherry all of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; and Luther Selby and wife, Brenda of DeMotte, Indiana and many other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral Services for Mary A. Hamilton will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Burch-Alford Cemetery at Artemus, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Monday evening after 6:00 pm and Tuesday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
