Mrs. Maxine Newman, age 85, of Heidrick,  passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at her residence.  She was a daughter of the late Felix and Minnie (Baker) Miller, born to them on April 19, 1933 at Blanche in Bell County, Kentucky.

Mrs. Newman was a well known Knox County Homemaker. She was a member and served with her husband in ministry at the Barbourville Church of God for over 34 years, and had been attending Faith Tabernacle.

On December 5, 1951, she united in marriage to Rev. Mervial Newman, and to this union a daughter; Stevie Gail and a son: Frank K. were born.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her six sisters and brothers: Faye, Rev. Charles, Euelle, John, Glenn and Opal, and by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Steve and Grace Newman.

Mrs. Newman is survived by her loving family, her husband of over 67 years: Rev. Mervial Newman of Heidrick.  Her daughter: Stevie Gail Riedman and husband, Donald R. Riedman of Bellbrook, Ohio.  Her son: Frank K. Newman and wife, Melissa of Barbourville.

Her grandchildren: Heather Bookmiller and fiancé Evin Peters of Kettering, Ohio;  Brittani Wolanin and husband, Alan of Pickerington, Ohio and  Brooke Lewis of Lexington, Kentucky.

Her great grandchildren: Morgan Bookmiller, Dylan Bookmiller, Boston Bookmiller, Jordin Bookmiller, and Everett Wolanin; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Maxine Newman will be 5:00 pm Saturday, January 26, 2019 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Macel Ely and Rev. Ray Dean  officiating.

The Newman family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home on Saturday after 2:00 pm and until the hour of service.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be Family members.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Connie and the Hospice of the Bluegrass staff and Rosa Broughton.

Burial with a Graveside Service will be 11:00 am on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Barbourville Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, for those who wish, Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2972 S. US Hwy 25E, Barbourville, KY 40906 in loving Memory of Mrs. Maxine Newman.
