Michael Lane Hubbard age 65, of Bimble, was born in Knox County, Kentucky on March 21, 1949. He was a son of the late Arthur Hubbard and Gertrude Bingham Hubbard. Michael died Tuesday, October 28, 2014
in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was a member and song leader at the Springfield Baptist Church.
Michael was a former Teacher, Principal and Truant Officer at Knox
County Public Schools before retiring. On August 15, 1969 he united
in marriage to Phyllis Jeanette Jones and to this union two
beloved children were born. Along with his parents and a infant brother, Vincent, Michael was preceded in death by; his aunts and uncles; Viola and John T. Bright, Mabel and Russell Wagers, Nancy and Clyde Dugger.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Jeanette Jones Hubbard of Bimble; his daughter; Heather Mills and husband, Matthew of Bimble and son; Eric Hubbard and fiance', Kendra of Bimble; his former, daughter-in-law, Robbie Gambrel of Barbourville and his
grandchildren; Caleb Matthew Mills and Rhylie Peyten Hubbard.
Funeral Services for Michael Lane Hubbard will be conducted Sunday,
November 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, with
Rev. Michael Helton and Dr. Kenneth Barker officiating. Burial will
follow in the Hammons Cemetery at Fount, with nephews and friends
serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Michael's church
family at the Springfield Baptist Church, his music buddies, and all
of his co-workers at Knox Central High School. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Saturday 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Sunday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
