Myrtle Lawson Mills, age 81, of Scalf, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the home of her daughter Debbie.
She was a daughter of the late Cal and Delia Sizemore Lawson, born to them on December 16, 1933 at Cottongim in Clay County, Kentucky.
Mrs. Mills was a well known Knox County Homemaker; and a Member of the Salt Gum Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Leonard J. Mills and to this union 11 Children were born.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Leonard J. Mills; her two sons: Jack Cal Mills and Larry Mills; her father and mother: Cal and Delia Sizemore Lawson; her two sisters: Drucilla Lanham and Mae Relaford; and by her two brothers: Buster Warren and Richard Lawson.
She is survived by her 9 children: Maryann Hobbs and husband, Don of Scalf; Delia Brown and husband, General of Scalf; Carl Mills of Barbourville; Diane Brown and husband, Dallas of Scalf; Zandale Mills and wife, Ruby of Scalf; Peggy Honeycutt and husband, Gillie of Walker; Debbie Brown and husband, Mount of Scalf; Drucilla Fredrick and husband, Ken of Scalf; and Sharlene Mills and husband, Ricky of Scalf.
Her 33 Grandchildren; her 54 Great Grandchildren; and her 8 Great Great Grandchildren.
Her two brothers: Callaway Lawson and wife, Joyce of San Antonio, Texas; and Robert Lawson of Corbin: and a many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Myrtle Lawson Mills will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Salt Gum Baptist Church with Rev. Kennon Roark, Rev. Steve Honeycutt, Rev. Joe Jones, and Rev. A. Y. Mills officiating.
Burial will follow in the Larkin-Bargo Cemetery at Salt Gum on Turkey Fork.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be Grandsons of Mrs. Mills.
The Mills family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home on Saturday after 6:00 pm, and on Sunday at the Salt Gum Baptist Church after 3:00 pm, and on Monday at the church after 9:00 am, and until
the funeral hour.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
