Oda Marie Walton age 94, of the Artemus Road, Barbourville, was born
on April 20, 1920 at Flat Lick, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the
late Daniel Epperson and Mary Elizabeth Epperson. Oda died Tuesday,
September 2, 2014 in the Knox County Hospital. On May 10, 1947,she became a member of the Artemus First Baptist Church. On October 17, 1938 at Heidrick, Kentucky, she united in marriage to John William Walton. She and her husband, John were Owners and Operators of Walton's Upholstery for over 31 years. Along with her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ruth Lund Williams; a son, Chuck Shelby, a sister, Mattie Epperson Dunn; brothers; Albert, William, C.O. and Bradley Epperson; and grandsons; Anthony and Greg Williams.

Oda is survived by her son; Jerome Walton and wife, Janice of London,
Kentucky; her daughter; Henrietta Gambrel and husband, John of
the Artemus Road, Barbourville; her sister; Amanda Mills of Williamsburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and fifteen great great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Oda Marie Walton will be conducted Friday,
September 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, with
Rev. Alvin Dunn, Rev. Tim Phipps and Rev. Dale Phipps officiating.
Burial will follow at the Walton Cemetery at Ramsey Branch, Artemus,
Kentucky, with Robert Gill, Kenneth Smith, Charlie Nevers, Willie Ray Epperson, Larry Conover,and Larry Dunn serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle Gambrel, Jonathon Gambrel, Dr. James West, Dr. Paul Pederson, and all Home Health Staff. The Walton family would like to extend a special thank you to all friends and special caregivers who helped care for Mrs. Walton. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Thursday after 6:00 pm and Friday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
