Quetha Jo Bargo Boles, 61, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019, in Lexington, KY. She was the daughter of Leah Jane Lawson Bargo and the late James Curtiss Bargo, born to them on August 10, 1958, in Pineville, KY.
On October 30, 1980, she united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Boles and to this union four children were born. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Craig Curtiss Bargo, and her parents-in-law, Rita and Chester (Chigger) Boles.
She is survived by her mother, Leah Jane Lawson Bargo of Artemus; her loving husband, Jerry Wayne Boles, of Bimble; their four children, Leah Beth Boles Phipps and husband, Jeff of Gray, Rita Brianna Boles, Nicholas McKin Boles, and Glenda Jeree Boles, all of Barbourville; four grandchildren, Tanner, Trey and Ann Tyler Phipps of Gray, and Willa Curtiss Boles of Barbourville; a brother, Gregg Bargo, of Casa Grande, AZ, a sister-in-law, Glenda Gray Bargo of Bimble, a sister, Esteva Bargo Asher and husband, Jim, of Artemus, a brother, Eddie Lay of Louisville, a sister-in-law, Loretta Daniels and husband, Bill, of Barbourville, a brother-in-law, Stanley Boles and wife, Jodie, of Cleveland, OH. She was a special aunt to Kacee and Chandler Bargo of Bimble; Eli, Grayson and Becca Bargo of Casa Grande, AZ, and William, Randy and Toby Daniels of Barbourville, Jamie Boles of Barbourville and Sean Boles of Corbin.
Miss Quetha was a faithful member of First Baptist Church – Artemus where she was the choir director, served as a Sunday school teacher, and as an AWANA leader. She loved to cook, loved books and music, but most importantly she loved being "Gammie" to her four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the First Baptist Church – Artemus or to the Weeks-Townsend Memorial Library at Union College in honor of Miss Quetha.
Funeral services for Miss Quetha will be Friday, September 13, at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Hopper Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Mayle and Bro. David Barnard officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 12, from 6:00-9:00 PM and Friday morning at 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral 1:00 PM at Hopper Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at the Barbourville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jared Bargo , Jeremy Bargo , Todd Hurley , James Martin , Kevin Partin , Greg Ramey , Josh Watkins and Neil Watkins .
Honorary Pallbearers will be friends and family of her beloved First Baptist Church-Artemus, Weeks-Townsend Memorial Library staff, Barbourville ARH, Dr. Jerry Woolum and staff, Baptist Health Lexington, Dr. Ari Padmanabhan.
