Ray Mills age 68, of Bimble, was born on November 28, 1946 in Knox County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Henderson "Ott" Mills and Hazel Rice Mills. Mr. Mills died Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his
home. He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church and was
attending the Salt Gum Baptist Church. Mr. Mills was a Mason belonging to Mountain Lodge #187 F&AM and was also a Shriner. On September 10, 1966, he united in marriage to Wilma Hensley and to this union four children were born. Ray was a employee at G&M Oil Company for forty-six years before retiring. Along with his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Ray Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Mills of Bimble; his daughter,
Sherry Elliott and husband, Rev. Jimmy Elliott of London; his
sons; Ray Mills Jr. and loving companion, Bridget Doolin of Greenroad;
Steven Vance Mills of Greenroad; and Danny Lee Mills and wife,
Melissa of Bimble; his grandchildren, Travis Mitchell and wife,
Lillian of Boone Height, Kayla Brooke Elliott, Catrina Renea Mills,
Corey Wayne Elliott, Dustin Ray Mills and Dalton Ray Mills;
three great grandchildren and many other relatives and dear friends to
mourn is passing.
Funeral Services for Ray Mills will be conducted at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 3:00 pm with
Rev. Kennon Roark, Rev. Jimmy Elliott and daughter-in-law, Melissa
Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery,
with son, Danny Lee Mills, grandsons, Corey Elliott and Dustin Mills, John S. Hammons,John McVey and Corey McVey serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Tony Bargo, Travis, Hubbard, Chris Smith, David Jackson, Ralph Warren, Freddie Cole, Bobbie Taylor, John McVey Sr., Allen Hampton, Arnold Brown, Dallas Hutton and Wrondel Burnette. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Tuesday, 6:00 to 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am Wednesday until the funeral hour at 3:00 pm. Masonic Lodge #187 F&AM will be conducting Masonic Services Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
