Rebecca Jane Payne age 94 of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Knox County, was born on September 6, 1919. She was a daughter of the late Melvin and Lillie Brown. Mrs. Payne died Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Norton Health Care Pavillion in
Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Payne was a member of the Calvary Holiness Church at Brooks, Kentucky. She was a former employee of Travelers Inn and G&M
Oil Company. On June 14, 1941, she united in marriage to Charlie R. Payne and to this union three dear daughters were born. Along with her parents and husband, Charlie, she was preceded in death by, three sisters, Ellie Gambrel, Nellie Baker and Candy Downs; two brothers; Rev. Edward Brown, M.C.
Brown and two grandsons; Terry Myrick and Phillip Myrick.
Mrs. Payne is survived by her daughters; Ellie Mae Helton and husband, Don of Louisville, Kentucky; Maxine Myrick and husband, Phillip of Barbourville and Juanita Bailey and husband, Arvil L. Bailey of Louisville, Kentucky; her grandchildren; Sherry Perry, Kim Guillen, Melissa Hoffman, Brian Bailey, Kevin Bailey and Charles Myrick; several great grandchildren; and special nephews; Dave Downs and Clarence Brown.
Funeral Services for Rebecca Jane Payne will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Monday
January 27, 2014 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Jim Cook and Rev. Mike Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the Callihan Cemetery at Hinkle with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be former church members of Scalf Chapel Church. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Sunday evening after 6:00 pm and on Monday after 10:00 am until the funral hour at 11:00 am. Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
