Roger Glen Crawford age 70, of Gray, was born on October 5, 1944 in
Red Oak, Iowa. He was a son of the late Roy Wayne Crawford and
Mildred Marie Gayle Crawford. Roger died, Sunday, October 4, 2015, at the Baptist Health in Corbin. He was a member of the Candle Ridge
Baptist Church. Roger was a retired employee of thirty one and a half years at Caterpillar
Corporation, a former Union Steward for over twenty years, and served in the United States Air Force. On April 26, 1969, he united in
marriage to Louisa Smith and to this union three beloved daughters
were born. Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by,
an infant brother, Dexter Crawford; sisters-in-laws; Martha Mills,
Brenda Smith, Nettie Smith and Verna Smith; brothers-in-laws; Jim Roundtree, Dexter Smith, Bill Smith and B.C. Smith.
Roger is survived by his dear wife, Louisa Smith Crawford of Gray, Kentucky; daughters; Lisa Crawford Johnson and husband, Nicholas of
DeKalb, Illinois; Tonya Louise Harvey and husband, Ray of
Corbin; Jennifer Nanette Crawford Nicolosi of Oak Park, Illinois;
grandchildren; Claudia Johnson, Benjamin Crawford Johnson, Audrey
Johnson, Trevor Glen Harvey, Brianna Harvey, Sofia Nicolosi, Siena
Nicolosi; sister; Marie Roundtree of David City, Nebraska; sisters-
in law, Susan Warren and husband, Orville; Anna Belle Lewis and husband, Robert, Bernice Tillman and husband Bobby, and Belle Smith; brothers-in-law;
Elmer Smith, Reed Smith and wife, Syreda; Richard Smith and wife, Ethel; Anderson Smith; and John Smith and wife, Debbie.
Funeral Services for Roger Glen Crawford will be conducted at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:00 am with
Rev. Rick Broughton, Rev. Darrell Warren, and Rev. Robert Hager Jr. officiating. Burial will
follow at the Candle Ridge Cemetery at Gray, with James Warren, Chuck
Smith, Marcus Lewis, Jake Bratten, Cleve May and Merrill Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jeffery Mills,
Trevor Glen Harvey, Benjamin Crawford Johnson and members of the Adult
Sunday School Class at Candle Ridge Baptist Church. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Thursday evening 6:00 to 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am Friday until the funeral hour at 11:00 am. Hopper
Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
