Roy Elder, age 68, of Walker, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his home.
He was the son of the late Alfred C. and Altie Bingham Elder, born to them on July 18, 1946 at Boone Height.

Roy worked in the Dietary Department at the Pineville Community Hospital; and was a very faithful Member of the Walker Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Alfred C. and Altie Bingham Elder.

On May 10, 1969, he united in marriage to Thelma J. Gray, and to this union a daughter: Tammy L., and a son: Roy Christopher were born.

He is survived by his wife of over 46 years: Thelma J. Elder; a daughter: Tammy L. Bingham and Husband, Billy; and a son: Roy Christopher Elder all of Walker.
His three grandchildren: Megan C. Gilmore and husband, Corey of Lexington, Kentucky; Colton Elder of Keavy; and Cayden Elder of Flat Lick; and many other relatives, and dear friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Roy Elder will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Walker Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Tirey, Rev. Ray Judd, and Rev. Mark Whicker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Eli Carnes Cemetery at Walker.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Roscoe King, Keith Cox, Kenny Bailey, William Faulkner, Roger Bingham and Brandon Bingham.
Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Employees of Pineville Community Hospital; Dr. Madham Mohan and Eleanor Liford, APRN of PCH Medical Clinic; Staff of Hospice of the Bluegrass; and the staff of the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

The Elder family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 18, 2015, and on Sunday, July 19, 2015 after 11:00 A.M. at the Walker Baptist Church.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
