Ruby P. Norton, age 89, formerly of Heidrick, was born on September 8, 1927 in Knox County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Jess Jenkins and Emma Bargo Jenkins. Ruby died on Thursday, July 6, 2017 in the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Corbin. She was a member of the Little Brush Creek Baptist Church, and was a retired employee of Publix Grocery Store Chain.

Ruby united in marriage to Thomas Norton.

Along with her parents, and husband, Thomas; Ruby was preceded in death by sisters: Bertha Cobb, Nannie Leger, Dorothy Oaks, Geneva Oberly; and her brothers: John "Billy" Jenkins and Matt Jenkins.

Ruby is survived by her son: Robert Leger of Indian Creek; her sister, Mary Jordan and husband, Charles of Heidrick; her brothers: Justice Jenkins of Garden City, Michigan; D. B. Jenkins and wife, Marie of Artemus; Jessie Jenkins Jr. of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Lowell Jenkins and wife, Brenda of Little Brush Creek.

Funeral Services for Ruby P. Norton will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Rick Partin officiating. Burial will follow in the Burch-Alford Cemetery at Artemus, with family members and friends serving as pallbearers.

Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home on Monday after 11:30 A.M. until the funeral hour at 1:00 P.M.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
