Samuel J. Gregory age 63, of Flat Lick, was born on April 18, 1954 in Pineville, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Lloyd Ernest Gregory and Irene Adele Wright Gregory. Samuel was a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church. He was a employee of the Stanley Pipeline Company in Winchester, Kentucky. On June 16, 1979, he united in marriage to Barbara Fleming and to this union two beloved daughters were born. Along with his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Adele Gregory and brother-in-law, Robert Alexander.

Samuel is survived by his dear wife, Barbara Gregory of Flat Lick; his daughters; Samantha Anne Gregory Lawson and husband, Matthew of Corbin; Becky Anne Gregory Webb and husband, Ben of Somerset; his grandchildren; Brayden Robert Shelton, Hunter Banks Sam Shelton, MacKenzie Corann Mills and Jaymon Kinley Mills; his sisters; Debbie Johnson and husband, Rod of Flat Lick; Ruby Alexander of Harrogate, Tennessee; his brothers; Michael Gregory and wife, Brenda of Corbin and Anthony Gregory and wife, Lillie of Flat Lick.

Funeral Services for Samuel Jay Gregory will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, September 4, 2017 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Eli Broughton and Rev. Kennon Roark officiating. Burial will follow in the Gregory Family Cemetery with Matthew Aaron Lawson, Jeremy Banks Shelton, Ben Mikel Webb, Bill Harp, Gary Reffitt, Chad Crawford, Scotty Gambrel, Glen Hunt, Doug Kinder and James Moore serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brayden Shelton, Hunter Shelton, Rod Johnson, Bill Corey, James Miles Sr., Jim Miles Jr., and Rick Shouse. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Monday after 1:30 pm until the funeral hour at 3:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
