Sherrill (June Bug) Reed, Jr., age 61 of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was born in Manchester, KY. November 12, 1957 to the late Sherrill Reed, Sr. and Mary Ella (Sis) Hipsher Reed. He was a 1976 graduate of Knox Central High School and attended Electronic School in Louisville, Kentucky.  He was employed at IGA, Union College, EK Woods, and Walmart.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, Manchester, Ky. In recent years he faithfully attended and participated in the services at First Baptist Church, Barbourville.  He was especially  enjoyed  the Church's weekly Bible Study and Prayer Meeting.  He enjoyed reading, listening to music, and playing cornhole, spades and horseshoes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Vernon, Fred, Lowell and Theophlious (Theo) Reed and two sisters, Blanche Spencer and Lyda Davis.

Sherill is  survived by a son, Ryan Reed , six sisters:   Jeanetta Spencer, Maxine Reid, and Jo Ella Davis, Barbourville, Ky, Lorraine Davis Pennington (John Ed), Manchester, KY   Hester Vivian Reed Smoot, Cincinnati, OH. and Kathy Reed, Dillion, CO and one brother,  Leon  Douglas (Jim) Davis (Alberta) Cincinnati, OH;  a special nephew, Curtis Brown (Allison) ,three dear cousins: Shirley,  Mayme and  Peggy Wallace and a host of nieces, nephews,  cousins and friends..

Funeral Services for Sherrill (June Bug) Reed, Jr. will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 17, 2018 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Craig (Pete) Clark, Pastor Bill Engle, Rev. Charles Tinsley and Prophet Michael Ferguson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rosenwald Cemetery.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Cleatous Bledsoe, Allen Bledsoe, Tony Bledsoe, Scott Broughton, Xavier Gregory, Larry Brown and Bobby Brown.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Buchanan, Dr. Syed Hasni and His Cornhole Buddies.

The Reed family will receive friends after 12:00 noon on Monday at the Hopper Funeral Home, and until the hour of service.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
