Obituary

Shirley Centers Evans, age 81, of Barbourville, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Edna Mae Carr Centers, born to them on January 3, 1936 at Warren in Knox County, Kentucky.

Shirley was a Member of the Warren Missionary Baptist Church; and in 1951, she united in marriage to Curtis Evans.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons: Tony Lee Evans on February 26, 2003, and Jerry Wayne Evans on August 17, 2004; a great granddaughter: Heather Evans; her three sisters: Velma Centers Evans, Bonnie Centers Cox, and Imogene Centers Fuson; her brother: Roscoe Centers, Jr.; and by her two brothers-in-law: Earl Cox and R.C. Fuson.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years: Curtis Evans of Barbourville.
Her two sons: Michael Evans and wife, Sharon of Alexandria, Kentucky; and Terry Andy Evans and wife, Kendra of Lebanon, Ohio.
Her loving grandchildren: Scott Evans, Kayla Evans, Ashley Renee Evans, Nicole Schmitz, Kelly Evans, Michael Brian Evans, Andrew Evans, and Steven Evans; and by her loving eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Shirley Centers Evans will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Wayne Miller and Bro. Ernest "Cotton" Centers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Detherage Cemetery at Trosper.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Brian Evans, Scott Evans, Andy Evans, Steve Evans, Derrick Fuson and Jamie Schmitz.

Rick Fuson will serve as a Honorary Pallbearer.

Curtis and the Evans Family would like to "Thank" everyone for their Love, Kindness, Prayers, Visits, and Care & Support shown to them during Shirley's illness.

The Evans family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Hopper Funeral Home, and after 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday and until the hour of service.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
