Stella Mae West Rose age 82, of Lexington Kentucky, was born on January 6, 1933 in Knox County, Kentucky. Stella was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Lexington, KY. She was united in marriage to Charles Curtis "Curt" Rose, Sr. at the Richland Christian Church on June 4, 1951. Her greatest joy on earth was her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She was a daughter of the late Sylvester Patrick (Pad) West and Pernie Perkins West. Stella died on April 20, 2015. Along with her parents, Stella was preceded in death by; her husband; her son Johnny Ray Rose; seven brothers; Renzo, Clarence Daris, Jake Albert, Carl Burton, Charlie, J.T. and Floyd West; her sisters, Mary Edith West Logan and Dessie Leah West Lay; and infant great-grandson; Elijah Rose;
Stella is survived by two sons; Charles Curtis Rose, Jr. and wife, Janie of Paris, Kentucky; Michael Randy Rose of Lexington, Kentucky; daughter Carole Jayne Rose O'Donnell and husband, Jeff of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren; Angela Rose Taulbee and husband, J.D.; Jason Rose, Brandon Pickett, Michael Pickett, Rebecca Horton and husband, Devin, Nicole Rose, Kelly Rose, Laci Pickett; and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Stella Mae West Rose will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 1pm with Rev. Rick Partin officiating. Burial will follow in the MT Pleasant Church road Cemetery, Gray, KY. Visitation will be at the Hopper Funeral Home Saturday, April 25 at 6pm and on Sunday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm.
