Obituary

Ms. Susie Mae Hubbard Harper, age 87 of Artemus passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in the Select Care Facility in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born on June 4, 1928 in Bell County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Jim and Nannie Lewis Bishop. Mrs. Harper was a member of the Northside United Pentecostal church in Chicago. She united in marriage to Jim Hubbard and later in life united marriage to Melvin Lewis Harper.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Hubbard in 1974 and Melvin Lewis Harper in 1995 and one son, Carlos James Hubbard.

Ms. Hubbard is survived by one son, Don Hubbard of Artemus: One daughter, Wanda Hubbard of Artemus: One brother, Isaac Bishop of Cincinnati, Ohio: One Sister, Elizabeth Stokes of Goshen, Ohio: One grandson, Chris Hubbard and wife Gypsie: Eleven great grandchildren; Cody, Phoenix, Tehya, Zoe, Veronica, Cheyenne, Alex, Gabriella, Rachel, Keagan and Spencer. She also leaves behind many other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.


Funeral services for Ms. Susie Mae Hubbard Harper will be conducted on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Carnes Cemetery in Baughman with Chris Hubbard, Cody Hubbard, Michael Stokes, Charles Stokes, Don Hubbard and David Coy serving as pallbearers.

Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home on Monday, December 14, 2015 after 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 1:00 P.M.
