Todd Darnell White, age 65, of Louisville, formerly of Barbourville, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016. He was a son of the late Kenneth and Connie (Mays) White, born to them on July 15, 1950 in Barbourville, Kentucky.
Todd was a graduate of Knox Central High School in Barbourville, Kentucky, and of Somerset Vocational School in Somerset, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper.
On October 27, 1972, he married his childhood sweetheart, Shirley Joyce Gregory. To their union was born one son, Ryan Andre White.
Todd was fortunate to work in an industry that he truly loved, automobile body repair. In 2007 he retired from Oxmoor Toyota in Louisville, Kentucky.
As a child, he attended Quinn A.M.E. Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church in Barbourville, Kentucky. He had a passion for sports, automobiles, and motorcycles. He was a retired member of the State Burners Motorcycle Club, Louisville Chapter.
A baby sister, Olivia Lynette predeceased him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Shirley; son, Ryan (Angela); three grandsons, Ryan Andrew, Roman, and Jaxsen White; three step-grandchildren, Ariel, Jessie, and Triston White; three brothers, Robert "Eddie" White (Sharon) and James White (Lana) of Barbourville, Kentucky, and Oliver (Bernard) White (Yvonne) of Lexington, Kentucky; two sisters, Vanessa Brown (Johnnie) and Mavetta (Rejai) Swope (Ronald) of Louisville, Kentucky; and aunt, Dorothy (White) Gregory: an uncle, Ed G. White, Jr. (Deloris); and many loving cousins; nieces ; and nephews, including Jonathan Brown with whom he shared a special connection.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Monday, June 13, 2016 at A. D. Porter & Sons-Southeast, 4501 Bardstown Road in Louisville, Kentucky,
Visitation on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 12 noon until the service hour of 1 pm at Hopper Funeral Home in Barbourville, Kentucky.
Funeral Services to follow at 1 pm on Tuesday in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Rosenwald Cemetery in Barbourville.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Kedron White, Carter Hughes, Tony Bledsoe, Exavier Gregory, Stanley Mays and Chaz Martin.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of local arrangements.
