Obituary

Tressie Gray Carnes age 93, of Artemus, was born on August 21, 1919 at Dewitt, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Sol Gray and Molly Doan Gray. Tressie died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. Tressie united in marriage to Grover Carnes and to this union five children were born. Along with her parents and husband, Grover, Tressie was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Dora and June; sisters,
Dora, Troy and Gracie; brothers, Sherman, Finley, Andrew and Eve and daughter-in-law, Irene Carnes.

Tressie attended the Hinkle Branch
Holiness Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors and in her garden.

Tressie is survived by her loving family; sons, Garrett Carnes of Corbin; Bobby Carnes of Indianapolis, Indiana and Matthew Carnes and wife, Teresa of Artemus; her grandchildren; Mike, Jeff, Dennis, Dean, Sharon, Sheila and Tina; twelve great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Funeral Services for Tressie Gray Carnes will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, March 8, 2013 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Rick Partin and Bro. Lee Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery with Grandsons, Mike Carnes, Jeff Carnes, Dean Carnes,
Dennis Carnes and Nephews, Robert Gray, Jackie Gray and Sol Gray serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be: all friends and neighbors and the staff at the Corbin Rehabilitation Center. Friends will be recieved at the Hopper Funeral Home Thursday after 6:00 pm and Friday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 3:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
