Vera Owens Moore, age 90, of Corbin, died Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Baptist Health in Corbin.
She was a daughter of the late Floyd A. and Rhoda Hampton Owens, born to them on February 15, 1925 at East Point, Georgia.
She was a retired Manager and Clerk for J. C. Penny's Company for over 25 years; and a Member of the First Baptist Church of Corbin.
On November 28, 1945, she united in marriage to Charlie J. Moore, and to this union a son: Charles Doug was born.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 54 years: Charles J. Moore on July 3, 2000; and by a brother: William F. Owens.
She is survived by her loving family: her son: Charles Doug Moore and wife, Helen of Barbourville.
Her granddaughter: Mindy E. Moore of Barbourville.
Her brother: Charles E. Owens of Bossier City, Louisiana.
Her sister: Louise James of Corbin, Kentucky.
Her special friends: Vicki Messer, Carol Swain and Charlotte Click; and many other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Vera Owens Moore will be 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Josh Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
The Moore family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, and until the hour of service.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
