Vernocia Kincaid Neal, 95, departed this life on January
28, 2013. She was born in Barbourville, KY to the late
George and Rose Kincaid.
She accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul Baptist Church in Barbourville. In 1946 she united in membership
with First Baptist Church Danville, KY.
Vernocia was preceded in death by her loving husband,
Roy C. Neal, Sr., two daughters, Nola Marie Neal & Alberta Neal Cowherd; a granddaughter, Yvette Bedinger Spalding, three sisters, Rebecca Love, Dorothy Potter and Mary Wilson and three brothers, Joseph Kincaid, Lewis Kincaid and Leroy Kincaid.
During her sixty-seven years with the church she served
On the Usher Board, the Missionary Society, M & W Club, Gideon Sunday School Class and Vacation Bible School volunteer.
She was an auxiliary helper at Ephraim McDowell and member of the Domestic Economy Club.
As the oldest female bowler the Kentucky USBC she had bowled with the Sunday Night Couples League, Fumbling Four League, Tuesday Night KY Colonels and until her death she was a member of the Tuesday Morning Coffee League. She was also a member of the US Bowling Congress, Lifetime Member of NAACP, a KY Colonel, a member of Celestine Chapter #9 of Eastern Star, Golden Circle #1 and Bethany Guild #16 Bluegrass Assembly#1.
She leaves three children to cherish her memory, Mary (Calvin) Bedinger, Agnes Joan Bartleson and Roy (Cynthia) Neal, Jr., nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Services for Vernocia Kincaid Neal will be 11:00
A.M. Monday, February 4, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 200 W. Walnut Street, Danville, Kentucky.
Burial will follow in the Rosenwald Cemetery in Barbourville, Kentucky.
The Neal Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Danville after 3:00 P.M. until 5:30 P.M.
The Smith-Jackson Funeral Home of Danville, Kentucky will be in charge of arrangements.
The Graveside Service at Rosenwald Cemetery on Monday, February 4, 2013 will be around 2:00 P.M. at the Cemetery.
Hopper Funeral Home will be assisting with the local arrangements.
