Vickie Lynn Davis Sowders age 58, of Coal Port passed away Tuesday October 9, 2018 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Ted R. Davis and Judy Faye Rogers Davis born to them February 26, 1960 in Pineville, KY. On November 22, 1990 she was united in marriage to Ernest Brenton Sowders. She was a Head Teller at Forcht Bank where she worked for eleven years, she previously had worked at Warner's for seventeen years and at the Knox County Transportation Department for nine years and was a member of the Artemus Baptist Church. In her spare time she loved to cook, shopping and spending time with her precious grandbaby's.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother: Jeffery Ted Davis and a sister: Linda Kay Davis Buttery.
Vickie is survived by her husband Ernest Brenton Sowders , her daughters: Tabatha Lynn Brafford and Fiancé Leonard Brown of Coal Port and Charli Christopher and husband T.R. of Pineville, her brothers: George Ray Davis and David Davis both of Gray, her grandchildren: Logan David Viars, Leonard Dallas Brown, Gunner Waylon Christopher and Gatlyn Annsli Christopher, her mother in law: Nikki Sowders Elliott of Stephen Trace, her sister in law: Melissa Sowders Shepherd and husband Mike of Stephen Trace, her aunt Opal Poindexter of S.C. and a very special aunt Shirley Jones and husband Larry "Walleye" of Barbourville, her special nieces and nephews: Christopher Buttery, Bridget Buttery, Marisa Buttery and Nate Hammons, her great nephew: Jude Christopher Leddington, her great niece: Chrislynn Buttery and her former husband and friend Bennie Brafford of Barbourville. She is also survived by many other dear nieces, nephew, relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Vickie Lynn Davis Sowders will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday October 14, 2018 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Hebree and Rev. Eli Broughton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sowders Cemetery at Coal Port with Mike Blevins, Jeff Crayton, Doug Jones, Albert Mills, Johnny Mills, Neil Watkins, Ned Steven Stewart and Eli Christopher serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are all the men and women at Forcht Bank she loved dearly. The family will receive friends after 5:00 P.M. Saturday at Hopper Funeral Home.
