Virgil E. (Gene) Bailey, age 77 of Hinkle, was born on May 9, 1937
at Sneedville, Tennessee. He was the son of the late James I. Bailey and Minnie Mae Lambs Bailey. Gene died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his
home. He was a retired Retail Shipping Clerk for the Square D. Company. On November 15, 1958, he united in marriage to Mary Byrd and to this union a son was born.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Mary Bailey of Hinkle, his son,
Charles E. Bailey and wife, Elizabeth of Verona, Kentucky; his five
grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and four great great
grandchildren; his sisters; Lola Howard of Dry Ridge, Kentucky;
Louise Wilder of Miracle, Kentucky and his brothers; Edward Bailey of
Williamstown, Kentucky and Jake Bailey of Owenton, Kentucky.

Funeral Services for Virgil E. (Gene) Bailey will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm with
Pastor Scott Phipps, Rev. James Wilder and Rev. Jonathan Collett officiating. Burial will follow at the Bailey Haven Cemetery at
Hinkle with, Charles Bailey, Ed Bailey, Jake Bailey, James Bailey,
Rev. Jonathan Collett and Rev. James Wilder serving as pallbearers.
Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Wednesday, after
11:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
