Obituary

Mrs. Virginia Mae Logan Jackson, age 86, of Barbourville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday morning at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Eliza Jane Hill Logan, born on February, 1932 in Rockholds, Kentucky.
On November 1, 1947, she united in marriage with Homer Lee Jackson and to this union three beloved sons were born. She was an avid gardener, loved bird watching, and was well known for her homemade fried apple pies. She attended Scalf Chapel Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray Logan and Russell Logan, daughter-in-law, Peggy Jackson, great granddaughter, Reagan Faith Warren, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Eb and Ruby Jackson.

Survivors include, her loving husband of over 71 years Homer Lee Jackson, her three loving sons, Denver Lee Jackson and wife Sue, Dennis Jackson and wife Teresa, and Doyal Jackson, all of Barbourville. Grandchildren, Virginia Rose and Husband Curt, Jennifer Warren and husband Steve, Michael Prater and wife Jocelyn, Jackie Brown and husband Matt, Kaylan Miller and husband Anthony, and Christopher Jackson. Great grandchildren, Valerie Oliveras, Lauren Ramsey and husband Matt, Vance Rose, Morgan Warren, Alexis Brown, Makenna Brown, Brandon Prater, Matthew Brown, Isabella and Maci Miller. Two sisters-in-law Rea Logan and Clarice Logan.

Special caregivers, Caroline Mills, Betty Gibson, Carol Smith, Debbie Hubbard and Missy Gross.

Funeral services for Virginia Mae Logan Jackson will be conducted in the the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Barnard and Rev. Josh Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be Christopher Jackson, Michael Prater, Vance Rose, Matt Brown, Matthew Brown, Curt Rose,

Steve Warren, Anthony Miller, Matt Ramsey, Shawn Smith and Clifford Williamson.


Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be David Logan, Tim Logan, Bruce Logan, Fred DeCarlo, Rodney Smith and Bradley Smith.

The Jackson family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 pm on Saturday, and on Sunday until the hour of service.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
