Obituary

Walter Carroll age 77 of London, Kentucky, was born on September 7, 1936 at Kay Jay, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Walter Carroll and Nannie Brown Carroll. Mr. Carroll died, Saturday, March 22, 2014 in the Knox County, Hospital. Mr. Carroll worked for the Ford Motor Company before retiring and served in the United States Army.  On November 1, 2001 he united in marriage to Evelyn Mills.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Carroll.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Evelyn Carroll of London;  a daughter, Jeannine McKinney and husband, Scott of Franklin, Indiana; two sons; Donald Carroll and John Carroll both of Shelbyville, Indiana; his grandchildren; Ashley, Stephanie, Jacob, Justin and Blake; great granddaughters; Abigail and Piper; his brothers; Doug Carroll of Monticello, Kentucky; Johnny Carroll and wife, Tonnie of Cumberland, Kentucky; Clifford Carroll and wife, Dorene of Indianapolis, Indiana; and his sisters; Catherine McCarthy of Cincinnati, Ohio; Dorothy Perkins and husband, Steve of Noblesville, Indiana; Ann Hart of Lexington, Kentucky and Nyoka Hall and husband, Darrell of Whitesburg, Kentucky.

Funeral Services for Walter Carroll will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Dr. William Boyd Bingham III and Rev. Michael Swartz officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutchins Cemetery at Bailey Switch in Knox County, Kentucky with Doug Carroll, Chad Carroll, Kyle Carroll, Jerry Centers, Johnny Carroll and Darrell Hall serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be:  Tonnie Carroll, Kendall Partin, Dorothy Warren and all staff at the  Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Tuesday, 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Wednesday, 10:00 am till 9:00 pm and Thursday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
