Wilma Marie McWilliams age 76, of Cannon, Kentucky, was born on February 16, 1941 in Knox County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Dirl Clayton Jackson and Ethel Crawford Jackson. Wilma died at her home Sunday, August 20, 2017.
She was the oldest living member of the Sinking Valley Baptist Church. Wilma was a nurse for the Christian Care Community in Corbin. She was united in marriage to Leroy McWilliams for sixty years.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by; daughters, Tammy Lee McWilliams, Jennifer Ethel McWilliams, son, Dennis Leroy McWilliams, sister, Martha Elizabeth Jackson, one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Leroy of Cannon; daughters, Debbie Johnson and husband, Ray of Bailey Switch; Cindy Stamper and husband, Ryan of Cranes Nest; brother, Dirl Clayton Jackson Jr. and wife, Janice of Barbourville; sisters; Maggie Bernice Willis of Cannon, Bonnie Sue Valentine of Cannon; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Wilma Marie McWilliams will be conducted at the Sinking Valley Baptist Church, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Johnny Fisher and Deacon, Paul Middleton officiating. Burial will follow at the McWilliams Cemetery on Long Branch in Knox County, with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. Charles Stargel and Staff, Staff and Co-Workers at the Christian Care Community, Hospice of the Bluegrass Staff, and Wilma's church family at the Sinking Valley Baptist Church. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Monday after 6:00 pm and on Tuesday after 11:00 am at the Sinking Valley Baptist Church until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
