Wittie Mills Trent, age 68, of Greenroad, was born on July 23, 1944 in Knox County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Dallas Mills and Ethel Riley Mills. Wittie died a her home, Friday, May 24, 2013. She was a member of the Antioch United Baptist Church was a member of Eastern Star Barbourville 411, and a former employee of Warners in Barbourville. On December 27, 1963, she united in marriage to Arvil Ray Trent and to this union two beloved sons were born. Along with her parents, Wittie was preceded in death by; two sisters, Thelma McVey, and Rachel Ann Mills; nephews, Dewayne Hammons, Steven Saunders Trent, Keith Gibson;daughter-in-law; Laura Trent; brothers-in-law; Vernon and Emanuel Trent; and sister-in-law, Helen Smith mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lucy Abner Trent and Basil Trent all preceded her in death.

Wittie is survived by her loving husband, Ray Trent, of Greenroad; her sons; Mike Trent and wife, Delone of Girdler and Scott Trent and Fiance', Cindy of Greenroad; former daughter-in-law; Christy Lusk of Georgetown, Kentucky; grandchildren; Brittany Trent,Jeremy Trent and Wife, Dana; Tristan and fiance', Chelsea; Ali Bennett, Kadi Jordan, Sarah Hill, Robbie Hill, Seth Hill and Reese Hill; great grandchildren; Dani Beth Jordan, Gavin Jordan, Zoey Abner and Emily and Joey Beth who were like grandchildren to Wittie; one great grandson, Conner Ray Trent; sisters; Wilma Jean Mills of South Carolina; Ruby Smith and husband, Rev. Elbert Smith Sr., of Woollum; Linda Carol Major and husband, Frank of Corbin; brother-in-law; John McVey Jr. of Woollum; brothers; Ray Mills and wife, Juanita of Michigan and Dallas Mills Jr. and wife, Mary of Flat Lick; special caregivers; Carol Major, Steve Jones, Wendy Thompson, Chelsea Smith, Ruby Smith and Christy Lusk; her Aunt; Georgia Mills of London; Uncle, Roy Mills of Winchester; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Norma Trent of Greenroad; Georgia Wilburn and husband, Carnel Ray of Woollum; Geraldine Trent of North Carolina; Bug and wife, Georgia of Greenroad; G.C. Trent and wife, Lena of Woollum

Funeral Services for Wittie Mills Trent will be conducted Monday, May 27, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Bradshaw, Rev. Owen Smith and Rev. William R. "Mann" Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Nan Riley Cemetery at Woollum with Wendell Hobbs, Curtis Mills, E.J. Trent, E.J. Smith, Dennis McVey, Robbie Hill, Steve Jones, Jeremy King, Eric Trent, Brian Kilgore, Calvin McVey, and Dillion Major serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: all Members of Eastern Star,Barbourville 411, Antioch Church Womens Club; church family at the Antioch United Baptist Church; Employees of the Knox County E.M.S.; Employees of the Knox County Bus Garage; former employees of Warners; employees of Tri-County Hospice and R.J. Mills. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Sunday after 5:00 pm and Monday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm.
